We all live hectic and busy lives and sometimes even the 24 hours we get is not enough. But even though we are busy, and are doing numerous things at a single time, we don’t feel like we have accomplished anything. It happens because we are busy with things that we need to do, not what we want to do. Thus, it leads to frustration and anxiety.

But don’t worry, there are ways through which you can manage your time more effectively. These tips that we will discuss below will ensure that throughout your busy day you do more productive things. Let’s see these tips for managing a busy life.

1. Prioritize things

There are only 24 hours in a day, and if you think that you will accomplish a lot in this little time, then you are wrong. If you put a lot of pressure on yourself, it will stress you out and even ruin the project you are working on. A little pressure is critical for success, but not too much.

Therefore, create a list of all the things that you need to do for the day. Now according to your time, manage them as per their number on the priority list. If something needs more time and can wait, leave it for later, and get on with things that need urgent attention.

2. Monitor your time

The best way to know how you are making use of your time, and if you are using it effectively or not is through keeping a time log. It will help you determine how much time you are giving to each thing and whether you can manage time for things that are of utmost importance. It will also give you a clear idea of how you can best manage it. Record your time for at least a week or two to have a clear idea.

Also, doing this time audit will show what things need the most attention from you, and what you can delegate.

3. Delegate the work

Now, after monitoring your time, you know how much time you are using for work that is productive and makes you happy. Also, it tells you the time you spent on doing things that anyone can do and doesn’t excite you. When you have this information with you, use it to free up some time for you.

Delegate work that you do which others can do so. It will give you extra time to put into things that require your specific set of skills. This knowledge will help you manage your time better, and whether you are a manager at a big enterprise or manager of your home, it works for both.

4. Have a routine for your mornings and evening

We work better when we are physically and mentally fit and happy. You can achieve this by having a simple morning and evening routine. Start the morning by drinking water, having healthy breakfast, coffee, and gym, or anything that helps you start it healthily. Then make a list of all the things you need to do today, and start with the most important one. Don’t do anything else or let anything distract yourself unless you do that.

To effectively manage your time, start an evening routine too. It can be a simple, brushing, reading, writing things you are grateful for, planning the next day, or so on. It will clear your mind from anxiety, and you will have a better night.

5. Have a positive environment

Positivity can help you work better, and negative thoughts demotivate you. So, make sure you have a positive ambiance when you are working, no matter what you are working on. So:

  • Have plants for fresh air
  • Use a diffuser to spread the fresh fragrance
  • Use motivational posters that you can print using Canva to inspire you
  • Have an abundance of light.
  • Declutter and keep things organized

6. Don’t procrastinate

Procrastination is the biggest enemy of productivity. If you keep delaying things that you need to do, you will find that you are short on time, and the list of things you need to do keeps increasing.
