There are days we all become lazy and don’t want to go to the gym, mainly because exercising seems like a horrible task rather than something fun to do. At the end of the day, all we are doing is making excuses for ourselves and eventually we stop going to the gym.

The thing is, the thought of exercising should make you happy rather than sad. If you are unhappy, is there a way to excite yourself to work out again?

Unfortunately, there is no correct answer, mainly because everyone functions differently. There are always new things to try and that makes the mundane routine bearable. That way you’re not on your way to giving up on your fitness goals.

Below there is a small list of how you can stay fit in 2018.

Log your workout

After setting your fitness goal, set up a process that helps you plan how you would like to pull it off.  Quite a few people have started using a digital workout logbook, which helps them track their fitness workout regime, but, if you don’t want to use a digitized version you can always go old school and use a regular hardcopy logbook.

This will not only help you plan your whole workout regime, but it will also help you keep a record of what you’re doing and what does or doesn’t work for you.  So that way if you need to re-strategize your workout plan, it will be easier to do so.

Home workout

Convenience is a huge problem when it comes to working out.  Our most significant hindrance in going to the gym is finding the motivation to get up and get going, especially after a long day at work. Sometimes you can’t go to the gym for some reasons; like late-sittings at work or other family-based responsibilities and then your momentum breaks and the excuses keep piling up.

Some people wake up a little earlier than their usual time to hit the gym, and it works for them.  Nonetheless, for some, waking up earlier and not getting enough sleep seems like more exertion. However, there is a solution for those can’t make it to the gym in the wee hours in the morning – compiling a home workout routine.

There are many ways of getting a good workout at home.  You watch online videos performed by licensed practitioners, or trainers, Zumba coaches, Yoga Trainers, etc. Or you can even install some exercise weights, tools, or machines. If you live in an apartment building or have a park nearby, or basketball courts, you can get your exercise by doing some activities at those places.

Your personal trainer

Working out on your own can be really hard at times, just because you want to do something doesn’t mean you know how to do it correctly. There will be times you don’t exactly know how to start working out.  You may have the option of hiring a trainer, but there is absolutely no harm in doing some research and putting together a routine for yourself.

Nowadays, there are so many types of exercise regimes and programs set by professionals, that you can buy a book, download an app, or find some online inspiration.

Many of these trainers, who have made their empires via social media, talk about types of diet and exercise that work for some people. Some even partner up with brands that help you towards a healthier path or try different brands to refer and use for their benefits. For example, many natural remedies help a person work towards the path to fitness. Milk thistle tea benefits your liver function and helps to lose weight as well.

An upbeat music list

Everyone knows that the right type of music can have a tremendous influence on your driving force on how you perform.

It doesn’t matter what genre of music you prefer to listen to because the playlist you make for your workout is the one that motivates you to keep for a specified duration.  Any music player that is convenient, easy to use and doesn’t stop while you’re working out. It can be really irritating that while you’re working out and driven by your playlist, all of a sudden a couple of wires are loose and can get caught, slowing down your movement and disrupting your workout.  Bluetooth music gear during a workout is a must.

Team up

Trying to stay on track of your fitness regime is not an easy task at all. Now with the power of social media, you no longer need to be on your own when trying to keep fit and you don’t need a group of people to partner up with, you have the privilege of connecting with groups and communities online to share your fitness process. They can involve you in theirs as well.

There are plenty of apps that can help you.  Not only to act as digital logs of your workouts, but they also connect you to other people who can share their experiences with you. There are many clean eating and particular diet communities online as well.

Remember to stretch

Exercising can be addictive, to the extent that you end up pushing your body more then you should. This can cause a lot of damage to your muscles by causing, sprains, joint pain, tissue trauma, etc.

There are, many ways to prevent serious soreness. Stretching, icing, foam rolling are all great ways how you can prevent long-term injuries. Massage therapy really helps as well.

Start a reward system

Everyone loves to be rewarded, giving yourself a little treat can go a long way. However, this isn’t what you think; we are talking about a different treat – the motivational treat or reward system.

Yes, you can have a cheat day where you can eat the junk food in a balanced manner, but wouldn’t it be even cooler if you used apps that gave you a financial incentive to lose weight? So either way, whether you become richer or not, you will definitely become much healthier!
