Getting to know Josephine

What was the last TV series you watched on TV?

M*A*S*H – My favorite show of all time.

What would be the ideal food to have cooked for you on a date night?

Probably something breakfast-related. Breakfast for dinner is one of my favorites.

Which fictional character do you wish was real?

Sherlock Holmes. One of my favorite fictional characters ever. I just think it’d be super cool if he was real, because his abilities are amazing.

Which are cooler, Dinosaurs or Dragons?

Dragons all the way. They’re more mystical and powerful.

If you could learn any language fluently what would it be?

That’s hard, but I’d have to pick Italian. Mainly because of my lineage, and I’d love to be able to communicate with some remaining family members that still speak it and maybe reintroduce the language back into my family.

Are you finding the isolation of the pandemic conducive to your writing or is it hindering the experiences you can write about?

Isolation has been a mixed bag for me. On one hand, I’m naturally more introverted, so having to spend more time alone hasn’t been too difficult for me; but not being able to go out spontaneously and explore has been hard. I can get bored quickly with the monotony of life at home. I’ve found that isolation has helped me improve within my personal life and mental state. It’s forced me to look at parts of myself I would have missed otherwise. Creatively though it has been a bit stifling.

What would you be doing right now if it weren’t for your music career?

For a really long time, before I committed to the entertainment-industry path, I wanted to be an agent of the FBI. I was planning to go to school for psychology for it. Now I just want to play that role in a TV show one day.

What do you enjoy most about being an artist?

The freedom. The ability to follow what my soul wants to do and to change up what I do if I get bored or need a new start. Not being stuck or tied down is definitely what I’m most grateful for.

What is your current music project about?

Myself mainly. I’m trying to experiment with writing more personal songs and release a collection of music that truly is my story. I’ve written songs based on personal experience before, but I usually write them more neutrally.

When you create music, what is your personal purpose or goal?

To create something that people can gain something from, whether that’s motivation, an outlet, or just a road trip song. Something that can be interpreted in many ways to fit someone’s particular situation.
