The Dead Krazukies is a Punk Rock band from Hossegor, France.
Think Pennywise, Rise Against and a bit of Anti-Flag and you’ve got The Dead Krazukies! Since 2010, the band from Hossegor (France) brings out a concentrate of catchy melodic punk, raw energy and 90’s surf and skate culture.
Who inspired you to make music?
Mostly the Offspring, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, then all the FAT Wreck / Epitaph roster.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
It’s mostly skatepunk-90’s era, very energetic and catchy chorus. Nothing too complicated or too intellectual, it’s straight to the point. However, we like to explore a lot of things and add it up to our songs just to add a modern flavor to the mix. We are not famous, no one is really expecting us, so we do what we want.
If you could go open a show for any artist, who would it be?
We already had the chance to tick a lot of dream openings with Punk in Drublic, Xtremefest, or even SBAM Fest. We would dream to open for SUM41 for sure. We have one more year to try I guess …oh The Interrupters also!
We would love to go on tour with Anti Flag
What is your favorite song to perform?
A-I would say The Fallen & The Ferryman which is the opening title of our new album “From the Underworld”. The recorded intro set up the mood, then the song starts super slowly waiting for the blast to happen, I love the feeling. And also because the song is brand new, so super exciting to play new songs.
Which famous musicians, do you admire?
There is too many of them, but there is some that are coming to my mind instantly: Fat Mike is one of the best songwriter/lyricist around in our style, Chris 2 from Anti Flag is also a very very talented musician and also Dave Grohl because Dave F**king Grohl.
What is the best advice you have been given?
A long time ago, I was told by my friends from Uncommon Men From Mars to always try to play live the very best you can and always record what you can play. And that’s super good advice cause is there something more disappointing to see an album you like sucking live? (except for NOFX, they never disappoint)
Where was your current project recorded?
We kept the same process as we did for Icarus (our second album) pushing a bit everything. Drums and lead vocals were recorded by our friend Serge Bianne in a studio near our town. Then I recorded at my home studio guitars, bass and some additional vocals. We also did editing and revamping before passing all the project to Christian Carvin, who is the master behind every release we did. Christian did an amazing job at mixing the whole thing. After that, we sent the album to the Blasting Room for mastering by Jason Livermore (again a dream come true).
If you could ask your future self-one question, what would it be?
When is the NOFX reunion tour ???
Which fictional character do you wish was real?
I would say Hal from Malcolm in the Middle. Everything he does is funny and tragic at the same time, he makes me laugh all the time, I would love to bring him on tour, even if it could be an instant regret …
Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
I would love to have Chris Hemsworth play my role, but I will probably end up with Jack Black… and I love Jack Black so that’s fine!
What do you think the greatest invention has been?
How can it be something else than Electricity? I’m still waiting for the hoverboard, maybe that will be the greatest of all time.
If you were captain of a ship, what would you call it?
By experience, not The Northern Belle…
