Who inspired you to make music?
When it comes to “who inspired me” it wasn’t necessarily one person; it was a collection of people over time that inspired me to make music. It was my mom’s love for country music, especially the 90s, and her taking me to concerts and festivals and immersing me into such a cool culture. It was my (step)dad’s love for old school Hip-Hop and Rock that introduced me to some artists that I love. It was my fiancè showing me that music is something that I truly CAN do. All those people in my life, plus many more, inspired me to not only make music but pursue it as a career!
What is one message you would give to your fans?
Be kind to yourself. I have been working hard on being nice to myself and it has made such an enormous difference in my mental health.
Tell us about your new track coming out, titled ‘Wrong Side of My 20s.’
“Wrong Side of my 20’s” is this realization that you are growing closer to 30 in age than to 20. If you had asked me when I was 16 where I saw myself at 26, I would have said married with a Veterinary degree (or close to) and who knows maybe even pregnant. But now I realize that I have time and there is no rush on anything as long as I am enjoying the process. The song also playfully touches on what it meant to be in your 20’s back in the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s instrumentally and lyrically (now it’s high school reunions, weddings and showers. We’re no longer 18. Everyone’s building careers and their houses, I guess we’re all building a dream.)
You have a really impressive social media following on Instagram. How do you maintain it and organically grow your fanbase?
I appreciate it! I’m always trying to create visual content that’s cohesive with my sound. For each release, I love coming up with photoshoot ideas and videos that represent the song. I try and post regularly and engage with my fans as much as possible.
Can you recall a moment when you felt like you had discovered your unique sound and were truly able to reach that exceptional level of self-expression?
Although I have had moments of self-discovery in my sound, I know that I have not completely found it yet as I am still early in my career and I think that my sound is going to always be evolving.
What does a show day look like for you?
I usually try and get a decent sleep in, like 8:30 or 9:00ish, before taking Moose (my dog) for a walk at the dog park. It helps wake me up and feel relaxed knowing he can be left alone for a bit and selfishly I need the walk to help clear my head and get ready for the day. Then I try to eat a big breakfast in the morning, depending on the time of the show, and then I’ll get a booster juice on the way to the venue to make sure I have had something to eat. I always seem to grab a Booster before shows, Strawberry Storm is my favourite. On the way to the venue, I like to listen to my setlist randomly to ensure I know the words. It just helps me build some confidence in knowing that “I got this.” After I have done all that I like to just chill in the backstage/green room area and collect myself and my thoughts and make sure I am fully hydrated.

I would love to collaborate with either Megan Moroney, Kacey Musgraves, or Zach Top to name a couple.
Could you provide more details about the process of growing your team and identifying the right individuals to assist in expanding your reach and opening new opportunities that might have been challenging to access?
The best thing for you to initially do is go out to your local music events and start networking. You will slowly see who the core people in your area are and who can help guide you. As you grow so will your network and the level of expertise of people in there.
