Brooklyn psychedelic rock duo SORRYNOTSORRY have released their newest single, “Foggy Like a Bladerunner,” a darkly hypnotic meditation on survival, disorientation, and emotional fog.
Out now on all major streaming platforms, the track offers a cinematic, minimalist sound that builds steadily toward a message of endurance. Anchored by hypnotic vocals, hazy guitar textures, and a mantra-like refrain—“we’ve gone through war… we’re still alive”—the song feels like a slow-motion march through dust and uncertainty. “The day we wrote this, the sky was orange and apocalyptic from the Canadian wildfires,” says producer and multi-instrumentalist Andrés Cottin. “It felt like we had reached maximum world degradation—but instead of absorbing that darkness, we channeled our gratitude into the music.” Written and produced by Cottin and vocalist Sam Dagnino, the song’s title came not from the lyrics but from the atmosphere. “We kept saying, ‘It’s foggy like Bladerunner outside,’ and that phrase just stuck,” Cottin explains. Drums were recorded using a mobile rig at NYC session drummer Max Yassky’s home, adding organic, lo-fi energy to the otherwise dreamy soundscape. The track was mixed by Cottin and mastered by Zach Kornhauser (Sia, Portugal. The Man), giving it polish without losing its edge.
SORRYNOTSORRY was born from a chance meeting between Venezuelan artists Sam Dagnino and Andrés Cottin in a Long Island City studio. Since that first impromptu jam, the pair have forged a deeply collaborative and intuitive partnership that thrives on experimentation. Their forthcoming debut album, The Other Side, promises to continue this genre-defying exploration, combining ambient textures with psychedelic grit and emotional storytelling.
With “Foggy Like a Bladerunner,” the duo offers a mission statement, one that embraces ambiguity but refuses to be consumed by it. It’s not about having all the answers; it’s about showing up anyway, even when the sky turns orange and the path forward disappears into smoke.Stream “Foggy Like a Bladerunner” now on all platforms, and follow SORRYNOTSORRY on Instagram or visit their website for updates on their debut album, The Other Side, visuals, and more.
